Bonsai Society Kalamazoo Minutes July 9, 2006 The meeting opened with members Ann Page, Eric Newton, Greg Filter, Jenny Grunberg, John Tagett, Carolyn Verweyst, Ed Greenleaf, John Cerovski, and Jean McIlvenny present. The members discussed upgrading the club’s web site. Greg Filter is checking into this. BS-K then began the Penjing Workshop. Eric Newton not only provided his farm for the meeting place but he assembled cut rock and various sizes of slate for the building of the Penjing. Eric then spent the next few hours instructing and aiding members in their beginning Penjing. The August meeting will be a nursery visit to Gee Farms, August 13th, 1:00 PM.

From Jackson--Take I-94 to exit 139 (Cooper St/M-106). Go north on Cooper/M-106 until Bunkerhill Rd forks off to your left (about 8 miles past the state prison). Follow Bunkerhill Rd 3 miles. From I-96--Take the Williamston exit. Go south on Williamston Road until you come to Howell/Mason Rd, take a right go 1/10th mile and Williamston Road will go back to your left. Follow Williamston Road until it makes a sharp 90 degree turn. The road will turn into Baseline. The next road to your right is Bunkerhill and you are there. Williamston Road is a long winding road!!!!

BS-K August Meeting Sunday, August 13th, 1:00 PM The August meeting will be a club visit to Gee Farms in Stockbridge, MI. I’ve heard nothing but great thing about this farm so bring your largest vehicle to haul all the wonderful plants you’re going to buy. As usual, visitors, family, and friends are welcome. |
